They are an excellent way of filtering out spam and bot traffic from your reports, as well as a way to figure out which companies are visiting your website. Learn more in this blog article.

It's a great add-on to be able to filter Service Providers on company type. Want to see which businesses or universities visited your site without all the Internet Service Providers cluttering up your results? Check!

Forcing the usage of API keys gives us the power to limit or block websites which abuse our service. It's also a way for us to be able to reach out to you if we ever come up with some additional, cool new features. But don't worry, we won't spam you!

IpMeta will simply stop populating the dimensions with new data, until the cycle resets in the new month. We recommend signing up for a free API key to get unlimited pageviews to prevent any data loss.

Obtaining the data for the network related dimensions is based on your visitor's IP address. However, IpMeta never stores any data of your visitors, including the IP address. It is only used to convert it into the network data (through our own, proprietary WHOIS database. IpMeta makes no use of third parties) and then immediately thrown away.

As such, the use of IpMeta has no implications with regards to GDPR and CCPA. We do however recommend you are fully transparent to your visitors and mention your usage of IpMeta in the same places you mention your usage of Google Analytics.
